GENERAL FUNCTIONS:
The NYC Regional Admissions Specialist will assist the office of admissions with recruitment and counseling of prospective students, specifically from New York, Long Island and other select metropolitan areas.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Effectively articulate the mission, vision, and values of GCC to prospective students, their families, and school counselors.
Communicate accurate information to prospective students, their families, and school counselors about the College.
Maintain knowledge of financial resources available to students.
Refer prospective students to communicate with an on-campus admissions professional or appropriate campus resource when appropriate.
Represent GCC at NYC, Long Island and other select downstate recruitment and counselor events.
Maintain and report on recruitment activities.
Other duties as assigned in an effort to support the College and departmental goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
Associates Degree will be considered if applicant has three years of work experience. Strong verbal skills are required. Applicant must have the drive and ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of students and is mindful of and develops accessibility solutions that can accommodate all individuals to use GCC facilities without barriers, both digitally and physically.
Preferred
A Bachelor's degree is preferred. Preference given for specific experience working with students especially in the areas of college admissions, recruitment, advisement, counseling or campus life. Bi-Lingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
Additional Information:
RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to the Assistant Dean of Admissions and Recruitment. Recruitment assignments will be distributed by the Admissions and Recruitment Specialist responsible for coordinating travel.
SALARY AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This is a part-time, per diem position at 19.5 hours weekly. Schedule will fluctuate and be determined by available recruiting events. Position is compensated at a rate of $20.67 per hour. Incumbent must be regionally based in New York City and have reliable transportation. Evening and weekend hours required.
