As an Associate Director - Strategy & Planning for Verizon Global Services, your role will:
  • Have broad expertise in Verizon, asset management and growth strategies, cost transformation, and consulting

  • Be responsible for the planning and development of strategic management programs with a focus on improving performance, growing service capabilities and capacity, and strengthening VGS sustainability.

  • Lead the team responsible for the development of long-term planning and design.

  • Lead cross-functional projects and ensure post-implementation reviews to ensure success.

  • Be responsible for challenging and re-engineering conventional business processes, policies, and ways of working that lead to large-scale transformational change.

  • Be responsible for interpreting the global operating environment/market landscape, recommending which businesses and technologies that VGS should compete in, and setting the tone for what capabilities, services, and global operations will benefit Verizon the most.

  • Drive strategic partnership planning related to integration and delivery, go-to-market, performance management, strategic partner quarterly business reviews, organizational KPIs and other ongoing partnership and portfolio optimization activities.

What you'll be doing...
  • Working with stakeholders across the enterprise to design and execute key strategic initiatives that deliver efficiencies to reduce cost, drive revenue growth, and improve customer experience.

  • Maintaining high attention to detail while defining and prioritizing research projects to ensure that we are delivering insights against the right questions.

  • Managing the development of simulation and outcome models aligned to our market and against competitive analysis.

  • Managing and aligning VGS' Objectives and Key Results to our broader strategy, and socialize and escalate opportunities for improvement

  • Preparing and presenting proposed directions to management for review and buy-in on partnership strategy and key terms.

As a leader in the Strategy & Transformation organization, you will also be responsible for:
  • Making decisions regarding the hiring, firing, advancement, performance, promotion or any other change of status of team members.

  • Assessing employee performance, hold employees accountable, take appropriate corrective actions, and train and provide ongoing direction and feedback to team members.

  • The effective leadership of others, including properly leveraging Verizon's eight V-Team Principles (e.g., business leadership, people leadership, self-leadership).

  • Generally operating with a long-term scope and scale.

You'll need to have...
  • Bachelor's degree or eight or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

  • Excellent presentation skills with solid communication capabilities both oral and written

  • Proven record of successfully managing executive relationships

  • Demonstrated competency in strategy formulation and translation

  • Ability to see the periphery and take proactive action to shape business outcomes

Even better if you have one or more of the following:
  • MBA or advanced degree

  • Proven track record of leading high-performing cross functional teams

  • Experience with a management consulting organization

  • Experience handling highly sensitive and confidential information

  • Experience with Change Management best practices

  • Lean Six Sigma, Design Thinking, and/or Agile certification

  • Project management experience and/or certification

Where you'll be working
In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.
