Are you interested in living in a small community located at the base of the beautiful Wyoming mountains?

Join the team and be a change agent as the Wyoming Retirement Center (WRC) Administrator, a skilled nursing facility. The Administrator communicates, promotes, and supports the WRC mission to provide quality health care in a homelike environment to residents with mental health, dementia, and medical needs; and help residents attain and maintain their highest functional level.

The successful applicant will be provided on-site housing at the base of the Big Horn mountains, located near numerous historic sites and Yellowstone National Park. The house is a spacious 4 bedroom, 3 baths with a sunroom, fenced yard, and 2-car garage; utilities included.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed at the job level.

  • Responsible for oversight for all facility functions, including admissions, financial management, strategic oversight, resident care, employee well-being, quality assurance, and maintaining a safe and healthy environment.

  • Work closely with the Director of Nursing and Department Managers to establish work standards, policies, procedures, and prioritize tasks.

  • Utilize survey information and quality assurance measures to improve resident care.

  • Work closely with the Superintendent, the Senior Administrator, and Department Managers to ensure the facilities' Vision, Mission, Goals, Objectives, and Key Performance Indicators are being met.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of and confirm compliance with all governmental regulations.

  • Counsel staff on job performance and interaction with coworkers, hiring and firing responsibilities, and proper employee discipline. Ensure all performance appraisals are completed thoroughly and on time.

  • Ensure all employees have the necessary training, tools, and resources to be successful.

  • Provide leadership development; and work closely with the HR Department to create a positive and safe work environment.

  • Develop strategies to increase statewide awareness of the importance of the facility and the quality of services provided.

  • Increase overall admissions, and enhance the relationship with the local community.



Preference will be given to applicants with a nursing home administrator license, 2-5 years of relevant experience, and a proven track record of successful state surveys.


  • Knowledge of the Code of Federal Regulations in reference to requirements for Long-Term Care Facilities.

  • Well-versed in human relations, team building, and administrative management.

  • Proficient in using computers possess excellent time management and organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet set timelines.

  • Skilled in problem-solving, prioritizing projects, creating a sense of urgency, and overall process improvement.

  • Skilled in written and verbal communication and public speaking.

  • Skilled in budget management and contract development.



Bachelor's Degree (typically in Business Management)


3-5 years of progressive work experience (typically in Business Management) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Business Office Manager I


Education & Experience Substitution:

6-8 years of progressive work experience (typically in Business Management) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Business Office Manager I.

Necessary Special Requirements


  • This job is performed in a normal office environment, and the Administrator is expected to interact with staff and residents frequently and lead by example on campus.

  • On-site housing is provided.


  • FLSA: Exempt

  • This is an At-Will position.

  • The competitive candidate must have a nursing home administrator license.

  • Annual influenza vaccination and tuberculosis testing are required.

  • A background check, including fingerprints, will be completed through the Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigation, the Department of Family Services, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for every successful applicant.
