Custom Job Purpose:

This position exists to perform responsible work in planning, compiling and distributing Federal Programs assessment data and conducting evaluations of program initiatives.

Essential Functions of this Job

Consults with Federal Programs Senior Director and Senior Coordinators regarding the evaluation of federal programs. On an as-needed basis, consults with the Senior Director of Assessment, Accountability, and Evaluation.

Prepares evaluation sections for proposals and grant applications. Prepares plans to conduct evaluations in alignment with the district strategic plan. Designs data collection instruments. Implements data collection plans. Analyzes data and prepares evaluation reports for various audiences. Interfaces with external evaluation consultants and with the Florida Department of Education and other Florida networks to ensure the provision of quality services in a cost-effective manner. Provides training in evaluation through in-service sessions to Federal Programs personnel. Explains evaluation procedures and results to the public, organizations, and school personnel.

Non-Essential Functions of this Job

Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of program evaluation theory, including major program evaluation models and ability to apply to federal programs. Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques. Knowledge of computers at a level necessary to effectively program and/or use a computer program library. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with school system personnel and the public. Ability to prepare concise and comprehensive reports. Bilingual/biliterate preferred.

Education, Experience and/or Certification/License Requirements

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor#s degree in Educational Research, Measurement and Evaluation, or similar field: Master#s Degree preferred. At least two years of experience in conducting program evaluations or relevant related experience.

Work Context:

Requires some sitting and standing, walking and moving about to coordinate work. Requires the use of alternative communication systems, such as electronic mail, telephones and computers. Requires coordination of work tasks to establish priorities, set goals and meet deadlines. Requires face-to-face discussions and contact with individuals and/or teams. Requires work with internal and external contacts, and with the public.

Physical Environment:

Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. Requires sitting for the majority of the day, and the ability to lift, carry, move and/or position objects infrequently weighing up to 20 pounds
