Your Specific Responsibilities:
Supervises direct reports including motivating, training, providing guidance, and direction. Develops expectations and meets with staff regularly to discuss performance, complete performance reviews, and discipline action, if needed. Maintains vacation and work schedules to ensure proper coverage and completes timesheets. Ensures all staff complete required training and are offered additional training.
This experienced HIV/AIDS Registered Nurse provides planning, monitoring and evaluation for a specialized public health program, the HIV/AIDS program, located in the Patient Care Clinic in Bartow. This person is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring strategies to decrease HIV infection in Polk County.
Directly supervises employees working in the HIV/AIDS clinic:
Plans workloads, workflows, deadlines, work objectives and time utilization with employees. Serves as consultant for coordination of clinical referral to other health care agencies and nutritionist as needed.
Trains, teaches and orients existing and/or new staff to the HIV/AIDS program. Participates in the hiring process for staff when needed.
Develop and maintain clinical protocols.
Responsible for evaluation and all personnel related activities as appropriate.
Assist in all CQI programs by actively developing, promoting, evaluating, and supervising the CQI process.
Participate in fiscal meetings and managing appropriate expenditure of all funding sources.
Works in tandem with other HIV program members to ensure quality holistic care.
Clinical duties:
Assist in Patient Care referral efforts of the HIV/AIDS program
Enhance clinic access and reduce barriers to loss of care to HIV positive patients.
Work in the HIV/AIDS clinics as needed, providing “hands on” service to patients.
Assist in meeting all Ryan White grant related goals.
Case Management duties:
Ensure appropriate statistics are maintained.
Ensure that clients are followed appropriately for compliance with their chosen medication regime.
Provide outreach services for HIV/AIDS clients.
Assist Case Managers in meeting the goals of the Ryan White Title II grant. Arrange professional support for the outreach workers as needed.
Other related duties:
Serves in the Polk CHD clinical and community health nursing activities as determined by supervisor. Participates in community HIV/AIDS related events.
Performs other duties as required, including performance of additional interpreter duties, consistent with skill level, and as needed.
As a state employee, in a County Health Department, incumbent will participate in disaster preparedness and/or recovery activities.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:
Licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN)
