Summary:

The Surgical Technologist, Lead is a member of the health care team who performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of a RN according to accepted clinical standards of care. Acts as the shift lead to staff and assists management with daily operations of the department. High School or Equivalent and completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program or LPN Technical Diploma and 2 years surgical technician experience or completion of a military or hospital based training program with 5 years acute care Surgical Tech experience. Required Skills also includes Knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment and sterile field set-up and broad Knowledge of specialty procedures, instrumentation and equipment. Surgical Tech Certification REQUIRED for new hires/transfers effective May 14, 2023. Preferred: NBSTSA or NCCT.
