Job Summary:

The Outside Plant Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing external telecommunications infrastructure at Fort Irwin. The role requires technical proficiency, a strong understanding of telecommunications systems, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Job Responsibilities:

• Installs, maintains, and repairs outside plant telecommunications infrastructure including cables, conduits, and poles.

• Performs routine inspections of outside plant infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and identify any issues.

• Responds to and resolves telecommunications outages and disruptions in a timely manner.

• Collaborates with internal teams and external contractors to coordinate outside plant projects.

• Adheres to safety protocols and regulations while performing work duties.

• Maintains accurate records of installations, maintenance activities, and repairs.

• Stays updated with the latest trends and best practices in telecommunications infrastructure.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• An Active DoD Secret clearance is required for consideration.

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Technical or Vocational training in telecommunications is preferred.

• Relevant certifications as per DoD 8570.01-M guidelines (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP) required.

• Proven experience as an Outside Plant Technician or similar role in telecommunications.

• Familiarity with telecommunications systems, equipment, and safety protocols.

• Strong technical and troubleshooting skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay and Benefits:

• Pay Rate: $34.30-40.87 per hour, plus applicable Health & Welfare fringe dollars as defined under the DOL's Wage Determination.

• Benefits: The company offers a comprehensive benefits program, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) and a range of other voluntary benefits.

• Paid Leave: Vacation, holiday and Sick Leave offered will be as defined under the DOL's Wage Determination.
