Job Description

The Technician, Cogeneration maintain and monitor the operation and control of all the systems and equipment of Cogeneration area, according to the established standards and parameters. The objective is to produce and distribute Cogen (Electricity, Steam, etc) services to users at the lowest cost, in the safest, most efficient way and complying with all the rules and requirements of CGMP, safety, industrial and environmental hygiene within the approved budget.

Responsibilities

  • Take the daily data and perform the cogeneration systems adjustments in order to operate them at established parameters.

  • Perform daily inspection and cogeneration systems and or equipment's verification, following the standards and regulations.

  • Perform work orders and document them in the computerized systems.

  • Perform preventive maintenance and solve and/or repair mechanical problems in the area.

  • Inspect and monitoring the equipment's using the computerized system in order to maintain them in the operational parameters.

  • Responsible of the performance of assignments activities following the operational needs.

  • Provide operational and mechanical support following EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) requirements.

  • Work overtime when the relay does not arrive, during emergency and when necessary.

  • Participate in the new personnel training and perform the LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) when required.

Significant work activities

  • Continuous standing for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hr day) is required

  • Driving a personal auto or company car or truck, or a powered piece of material handling equipment

  • Lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling weights of more than 20 lbs/9 kgs on a daily basis is required

  • Routine work with chemicals

  • Wear ear plugs

  • Work at heights, e.g. ladders, scaffolds, catwalks, etc.

  • Work in a clean room environment

  • Work in confined spaces

  • Work in noisy environment

  • Repeated bending, stooping, squatting or kneeling is required

  • Exposure to temps above 85 degrees Fahrenheit/28 degrees Celsius on a regular basis is required

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in instrumentation, electricity, mechanic or electronic or three (3) years of experience in Cogeneration

  • Verbal a written communication in Spanish and English

  • Availability to work the rotative shift, weekends, overtime and holidays according to business needs

  • Previous experience in the cogeneration area at APL site.

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
