Connectivity Field Service Engineer – Barcelona, Spain

We have a great opportunity for a Connectivity Service Engineer to join our team in Spain in October 2024! To service the territory successfully you will be based in Barcelona Area / Catalonia region ideally.

We're looking for people who have technical proficiency servicing IT networks and infrastructures preferably from within a medical device background, are happy to support our customers remotely and be in the field travelling and who love troubleshooting and finding solutions.

The role will provide a high level of service to customers on the installation, repair, service, maintenance, or enhancement of hardware and/or software products. Other duties will include ensuring optimal use of the installed hardware and software technologies, enhancing system performance, and securing data.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide emergency service and repairs using troubleshooting skills in software (internal & generic), electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems.

  • Develop partnerships with customer IT departments in order to foster the installation and implementation of HOLOGIC Remote Support systems

  • Install instruments at customer sites focusing on Connectivity aspects

  • Plan and complete Preventative Maintenance on time

  • Liaise with customer IT departments and assist with information systems installations and troubleshooting

  • Support marketing activities such as exhibitions

  • Routinely complete administrative work, such as but not limited to: Time Reports, Expense Reports, Equipment Site Assessments, Inventory Reports, Internal Laboratory Reports, Equipment Checklists and Field Service Reports

  • Perform duties and responsibilities with autonomy in a field-based environment

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Technical proficiency servicing IT networks and infrastructures both remotely and in the field, and a general knowledge of corporate related processes and disciplines.

  • Expert level knowledge of network and interfacing

  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex issues with Laboratory Information Systems IT infrastructures and PACs networks

  • Basic knowledge of DICOM and SQL database management

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills

  • Experience working in similar/comparable customer-based or laboratory environment

  • Effective Time Management Skills

  • Ability to accurately diagnose issues as described over the phone by Field Service Engineers/customers

  • Good level of spoken and written English and Spanish
