UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN- PLATTEVILL Lecturer of Health and Human in BARABOO, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Summary: The Baraboo campus of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville is seeking a part-time (16 hours per week) Lecturer in the Department of Health and Human Performance. This position involves teaching three courses-all in-person on the Baraboo campus with one streamed to the Platteville main campus. Classes will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays starting in the Spring 2025 semester (as soon as possible). Full time equivalent salary for this position is \$40,000 per academic year. Gross compensation is based on percentage of appointment and appointment dates. Estimate gross salary for this 40% FTE position is \$8,000 per semester. The position may be renewable for the 2025-2026 academic year. Responsibilities: The primary duty will be teaching undergraduate courses in the Department of Health & Human Performance (HHP). Courses include three face-to-face courses (Fitness for Life, Bowling, and Theory of Coaching) to students on the Baraboo campus. The Theory of Coaching course will also be streamed to students on the Platteville main campus. Additional Duties: Engage modern pedagogy to teach undergraduate students through a classroom and laboratory setting. Ability to effectively interact and collaborate with colleagues to complete department tasks (attend meetings, reply to emails, patriciate in department events, etc.) and goals. Develop instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction. Serve as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations. What You\'ll Need to Succeed: Master\'s degree in physical education, health education, exercise science, health promotion, or a closely-related field. Prior teaching experience (college/university undergraduate teaching preferred). Great time management skills to maximize teaching and other duties assigned. Able to work collaboratively with faculty and staff to achieve department goals. Demonstrate responsibility and responsiveness to the needs of the students and department. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated enthusiasm for professional engagement with students in and out of the classroom.
