Join our Team! Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for over 50 years, is currently seeking a full-time 40 hours per week (benefit eligible) Project Coordinator for Home Repair. As the Project Coordinator you are managing home repair and replacement projects, performing home inspections, writing technical specifications, and managing construction projects. During this process you are also communicating with the client, providing education and updates. This position is based out of the Bangor office.

Location: Bangor, Maine

Project Coordinator Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive, Emergency/WSD based, whole house inspections and design a work plan to address all deficiencies and health/safety issues.

  • Write comprehensive technical specifications to address structural, electrical, plumbing, heating, energy conservation, access, and finish issues on a variety of residential structures and mobile homes.

  • Prepare project documents based on the funding requirements which will include environmental reviews and state historical preservation reviews.

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of a wide range of home repair and replacement construction projects.

  • The Project Coordinator will work with other staff to coordinate additional services such as weatherization, heating repair/replacement and lead inspections for a whole house approach.

Project Coordinator Requirements:

  • Associates degree and 2-3 years previous work experience in repair and construction of residential structures.

  • Ability to manage multiple construction projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent communication skills and computer proficiency.

  • Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must comply with Penquis background check requirements with satisfactory results as outlined in current contract provisions.

The rate of pay for this position starts at $20.43 per hour, and additional compensation may be given consideration with relevant experience. Those with related education and experience are encouraged to apply.
