The Cloud Operations Group (COG) in Microsoft Export division is an exciting and fast evolving team with a mission to optimize and deliver industry leading cloud infrastructure used by our Customers around the world. By joining our team, you will be at the center of the export control operations for Microsoft datacenters, in order to keep Azure running smoothly.

As an Import Export Trade Specialist, you will maintain and optimize the export operations. You will assist in providing global trade compliance solutions that integrate regulatory requirements to guarantee the right part at the right place at the right time, all the time. This opportunity will allow you to collaborate with cross functional global teams while growing your business acumen and trade expertise through the world’s export requirements. In this role, you will take initiative optimizing processes at scale. This work opportunity offers partially remote work flexibility.

Responsibilities

  • Determine Export Classification Control Number, local equivalent classification control number, Export License requirements and submit License requests.

  • Execute, oversee and coordinate US and Global export daily operation tasks related to the Cloud supply chain to ensure smooth cross-border activities.

  • Manage and update SAP GTS with classification and licensing requirements

  • Resolving shipment holds for and provide support for export blocks ensuring SLA is met timely.

  • Implement and improve all trade standard operating process and procedure documents.

  • Provide robust record management, tracking and reporting support for all Export activities

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Controls Monitoring, Legal, Internal Audit, Logistics, and Supply Chain, to ensure uninterrupted support.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Law, or related field AND 4+ years of corporate, trade, or supply chain experience in an export compliance function

  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Law, or related field AND 5+ years of corporate, trade, or supply chain experience in an export compliance function

  • Strong understanding of export control classifications (ECCN), licensing requirements, and trade facilitation.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Law,OR related field AND 4+ years of corporate, trade, or supply chain experience in an export compliance function

  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, law,OR related field AND 3+ years of corporate, trade, or supply chain experience in an export compliance function

  • Working knowledge in SAP GTS system.

  • Proficient language skills in Malaysian, Japanese, Korean, or any other language is an asset.
