Amazon is looking for a dynamic, innovative and accomplished Technical Program Manager III to join Core Services team under Worldwide Selling Partner Financial Tech.

In this role you will be responsible for scoping complex projects and delivering simple, elegant solutions by collecting product and business requirements, driving the development schedule from design to release, making appropriate tradeoffs to optimize time-to-market, and clearly communicating goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional teams. You will interact with a broad cross section of the Amazon organization as you clarify ambiguous issues and negotiate effective technical solutions between development and business teams. You will anticipate bottlenecks and escalate issues when required in order to ensure on-time delivery.

The role requires a seasoned individual who has excellent experience as a Technical Program Manager for distributed SOA software systems and can guide high-level technical design as well as think about potential, future areas of fraud that our platform might encounter.

Key job responsibilities

  • Build project plans by working backwards, set milestones, establish mechanisms, and bring the right people together to solve technical problems and ensure successful delivery.

  • Coordinate with leaders and stakeholders in multiple teams across Tech, Business and Operations to drive data-driven decisions and alignment to achieve the program goals.

  • Dive deep into technical blockers, and work with development teams to unblock delivery or find a path to resolution.

  • Create technical design documents, influence technical priorities, and apply project management best practices to increase the effectiveness and impact of your programs.

  • Identify blind spots, look around corners to identify improvement opportunities, and provide the technical glue between multiple teams/orgs and in areas that do not have clear lines of ownership.

  • Understand the architecture of the systems you work with (e.g., workflows, APIs, design limitations, and maintenance requirements).

  • Communicate ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing, to all types of audiences including Directors and VPs. This includes writing emails, documents, and hotly debated topics for senior leaders.

  • Lead the resolution of contentious issues, drive escalations, identify and mitigate risks for project delivery, and ensure regular status reporting.

At Amazon, we are at the forefront of providing best in class payment experience to our Vendor selling partners. We enable Vendors to leverage our trusted and seamless payment applications so that they can focus on their business to fulfill buying needs of our Amazon customers globally.

We at Vendor Financial Experience (VFX) which is part of Selling Partner Financial Tech (SPFT) team are building next generation product with our full stack services on major platforms like Web, API and Mobile. We own entire end to end invoicing journey of a Vendor through 11 applications, driving Billion dollar transactions annually across 23 countries. We are breaking traditional financial boundaries with providing cutting edge technologies to make invoicing journey convenient for our Millions of Vendors.

Our systems are architected for scale and consistency. We build configurable, flexible and global solution (standardized globally but customized for local regulations). We are at the forefront of what Vendors see. Hence, our solutions need to be responsive and consistent. We do so by integrating with multiple other financial technology services to aggregate financial data. Our teams work on supporting trends and analytics on vendor returns and invoicing disputes, evaluate industry benchmarks and implement smart resolution of payment disputes to provide frustration free experience to Vendors and help them manage their financials with Amazon more efficiently.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 4+ years of software development experience

  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
