Wayfair Staff Engineer, Supplier Advertising in Bangalore, India

<p><em>Candidates for this position are preferred to be based in Bangalore, India and will be expected to comply with their team's hybrid work schedule requirements.</em></p>

<p>We are looking for outstanding candidates to join us as full time <strong>Staff Engineer</strong>. Successful candidates will have to solve complex and broad business problems with simple and straightforward solutions, applying appropriate technologies and software engineering best practices, building solutions that are scaled and performed. You will also have a focus on the customer experience, great teamwork and communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast paced environment.</p>

<p><strong>What You’ll Do:</strong></p>

<ul>

<li>Partner with your business stakeholders to provide them with transparency, data, and resources to make informed decisions</li>

<li>Be a technical leader within and across the teams you work with.</li>

<li>Drive high impact architectural decisions and hands-on development, including inception, design, execution, and delivery following good design and coding practices.</li>

<li>Obsessively focus on production readiness for the team including testing, monitoring, deployment, documentation and proactive troubleshooting.</li>

<li>Identify risks and gaps in technical approaches and propose solutions to meet team and project goals.</li>

<li>Create proposals and action plans to garner support across the organization.</li>

<li>Influence and contribute to the team’s strategy and roadmap.</li>

<li>Tenacity for learning - curious, and constantly pushing the boundary of what is possible.</li>

</ul>

<p><strong>We Are a Match Because You Have:</strong></p>

<ul>

<li>12+ years experience in Software Engineering with designing and building large scale platforms.</li>

<li>Possess extensive experience in full stack development, with a primary emphasis on backend technologies. They should also have&nbsp; the capability to contribute to frontend development when necessary.</li>

<li>Have hands-on experience in the e-commerce advertising domain. They should be familiar with the unique challenges and requirements of building and optimizing advertising solutions in an e-commerce environment, including ad targeting, campaign management, performance tracking, and integrating with various advertising platforms.</li>

<li>Experience leading/supervising and/or mentoring engineers, leading code reviews, and establishing best engineering practices.</li>

<li>Passion for leading cross functional projects through collaboration and influencing design decisions.</li>

<li>Deep understanding of modern programming languages such as Java, PHP, Scala, or similar languages.</li>

<li>Have experience in JavaScript and its libraries, especially React.&nbsp;</li>

<li>Ability to develop creative solutions with customer experience and scalability on top of mind.</li>

<li>Experience developing microservices in highly available and large scale distributed systems.</li>

<li>Experience deploying solutions into production within GCP, AWS, Azure or similar cloud platforms</li>

<li>Experience in developing and deploying services/applications in Kubernetes (K8s)</li>

<li>Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders alike</li>
