PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Sr Tax Analyst will be responsible for the US tax processes managed at Target In India, meeting deadlines and ensuring compliance with federal, state and International tax laws. As a Sr Tax Analyst, you will also be responsible for preparation and calculations of Tax provision workpapers. You will work closely with Target headquarters and business partners to collect and analyze data; assist with the preparation and documentation of tax workpapers and filings. This role will also focus on the below areas –

  • Preparation and review of federal, state and local tax and International workpapers and filings of forms for Target entities, including 1120, 1120-F, 5471, 8858, 5472 etc.

  • Liaise with HQ tax team and provide periodic updates on status of deliverables

  • Research and analyze on technical tax issues

  • Maintain tax compliance calendars

  • Supporting in the preparation/review of BEPS Master File, CbCR reports and transfer pricing related reports for Target group entities

  • Computation/ review of accounting for income taxes under ASC 740,

  • Provide inputs for tax provision using OneSource Tax Provision software

  • Support responses to IRS and local tax authorities

  • Preparation of calculations related to methods work such as fixed assets

  • Ensure compliance with applicable internal controls, policies/ procedures

Working within Tax, your mission will be to drive value-added work and support our core retail business goals. Our tax team focuses on all aspects of tax reporting including enhancing productivity and efficiency of core compliance through process and technology, monitoring tax risk and opportunities across all tax disciplines, engaging and educating Finance and the broader organization regarding tax considerations, and prioritizing team resources to support key work streams.

  • Requirements

  • Bachelors or Masters degree or equivalent combination of professional education and experience.

  • Minimum of 6 years of US taxation experience with a public accounting firm or equivalent experience in a large corporate tax department is preferred.

  • Candidate with experience in preparation of federal, state and / or international income tax workpapers, preparation of US Forms 1120, 1120-F, 5471, 8858, tax filing disclosures, data analysis, provision support, tax research and analysis etc is preferred.

  • Ability to lead and manage process transitions with a focus on timely completion.

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel

  • Experience in OIT and OTP software would be an added advantage

  • A proactive mindset and keen analytical ability, attention to detail, and the ability to meet tight deadlines.

  • Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently with limited direction and guidance.
