We are looking for a Venture Capital Engagement lead for the Microsoft Digital Natives team, based out of Bangalore, India. This key role will be responsible for everything related to startups and Microsoft partnerships. The incumbent will run our depth program for Series-A, B2B startups and will be active in the community through speaking opportunities and initiating & co-hosting startup-related events.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development: Drive business development by opening doors and supporting the closure of deals with notable startups in India and APAC region.
Partnerships with VCs and PEs: Establish and maintain partnerships with venture capital and private equity firms.
Ecosystem Engagement: Engage deeply with the ecosystem through participation in various events, workshops, and hackathons, ensuring continuous interaction and collaboration.
Programmatic Partnerships: Drive programmatic partnerships with VCs, particularly with the brand pull for OpenAI, and scale evangelism engagements across top VCs.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Proven experience in building successful startup teams with successful exits, as well as experiencing failures.
Previous experience working with the Indian investment community (VCs and angels), mainly in Bangalore.
Proven experience working successfully within a large global corporation.
Passion and ability to engage with, recruit, and build a vibrant regional community of entrepreneurs.
Ability to manage a broad portfolio of business relationships with startups, mentors, investors, and internal Microsoft stakeholders.
Desired Characteristics and Abilities:
Ability to build a world-class mentor, angel/VC, and customer network to fuel the growth of portfolio companies.
Thrive on collaboration within Microsoft and with the wider tech industry and ecosystem.
Demonstrate innovative and out-of-the-box thinking in working with this unique community.
