With this in mind, we have established a team of designers within Philips Experience Design to ensure we deliver world-class design across the Philips portfolio and to foster the community of designers distributed across Philips businesses. As a Senior User Experience Designer, you will have the opportunity to lead assignments within this central team to shape how our software (consumer & clinical) will better the care and wellbeing of million of people across the globe.

You are responsible for

To establish landmarks of qualitative user experiences and foster thought leadership in UX design within our team. You will engage the global community of designers and developers working across Philips to increase design quality and best in class UX patterns, leading within your assignments by example. You apply a systems thinking approach to design and deliver superior experiences and interactions. Your experience of working in cross-functional teams, in combination with your knowledge of industry standards and heuristics, allows you to efficiently deliver qualitative and scalable solutions through our design system.

  • You put the user experience first, all the time every time. You enable your teams to create elegant UX solutions that excite customers and stakeholders, by applying your superior knowledge and sensibility in the craft of UI/UX to meet user needs and business objectives.

  • You are a thought-leader and have the ambition to excel in your craft of UX/UI design, continuously advocating for the quality of design. You understand how to create novel design solutions within the constrains of international and internal standards (e.g. WCAG, Brand).

  • You are a true teamplayer, able to influence and inspire by soliciting, synthesizing and managing feedback, insights, and partner with peers to deliver tangible results (early & often). You collaborate effectively with key functions, such as: marketing, domain and usability experts, and engineering.

  • You act as a mentor and influence cross-functional collaboration, actively partnering with stakeholders across the enterprise as strong, customer experience and solutions-oriented contributor. You are able to manage your own scope and the scope of a design team successfully to drive impact. To earn Design a “place at the table” the Designers must show backbone in dialogues with the Stakeholders, disagree … and then commit.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need a customer-first attitude and strong craftsmanship:

  • 10 -12 years of relevant work experience

  • Exceeding aesthetic and visual sensitivity with strong track record to change business realities through design

  • Experience in designing, improving and driving design processes and systems with humility and patience.

  • Experience working with a diverse range of design experts – UX design, product design, service design, design strategy, coders, and usability

  • Experience influencing decisions within a large organization through design

  • Experience leading a team of designers to success and impact

Philips Experience Design, established in 1925, and one of the longest-established design organizations in the world. It has studios across the globe – in Amsterdam, Bangalore, Cambridge (US), Eindhoven, Pittsburgh, Seattle, Shanghai and Singapore – and a creative growing force of 450 professionals. The primary location for this role is Philips Experience Design, Bangalore, India (hybrid). You will work in a multidisciplinary design studio responsible for global design direction. Your peers in Philips Experience Design will include product, communications, design research, design strategy, service design, and program management in India, China, Europe and America.
