Microsoft’s Azure Data engineering team is leading the transformation of analytics in the world of data with products like databases, data integration, big data analytics, messaging & real-time analytics, and business intelligence. The products our portfolio include Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL DB, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure PostgreSQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Grid, and Power BI. ​​Within Azure Data, the big data analytics team provides a range of products that enable data engineers and data scientists to extract intelligence from all data – structured, semi-structured, and unstructured. We build the Data Engineering, Data Science, and Data Integration pillars of Microsoft Fabric.​

​​Within Azure Data, the Data Services Infrastructure team builds the next generation cloud services infrastructure that powers big data analytical engines across Microsoft Fabric, HDInsight, and Cosmos. We build highly reliable, secure, and scalable software. We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to join the Data Services Infrastructure team.

Responsibilities

​​• Collaborate with customers, internal partners, and product engineering to define and prioritize Data Services Infrastructure requirements across multiple data services.

• Proactively identify short-term and long-term investment opportunities, evaluate tradeoffs, and prioritize investments in consultation with senior leadership, and product engineering.

• Develop and own a short-term feature calendar and the long-term roadmap for Data Services Infrastructure.

• Write compelling technical specifications that outline customer needs and product requirements.

• Collaborate with product engineering to successfully implement and deploy capabilities that enable product fundamentals and meet the customer requirements. ​

Qualifications

​​• Bachelor’s Degree AND 5+ years’ experience in product/service/project/program management OR equivalent experience.

• 3+ years of experience in product management for the underlying platform of a commercial technology product.

• 3+ years of Project Management skills with experience managing large-scale, complex projects with cross-functional teams.​

Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

• This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafte

​​• Experience with cloud computing, online services, enterprise software development, engineering, and/or operations at scale.

• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Containers, and Cloud Native Services.

• Deep understanding of Kubernetes Networking (CNI) and Service Mesh. Hands-on experience with container security is a bonus.

• Experience partnering closely with internal and external customers and partners.

• Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.

• Communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.

• Executive presence, leadership, communication skills in influencing customers and senior executives.​
