Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Engineering Project Management Teams manage cross functional engineering projects. They work with Product Management, Sales, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance, and other functions across TE to assure projects meet financial, schedule and customer expectations. As a PjM I, you'll oversee sensor New Product Introduction and Business Sustaining projects for the Automotive and ICT markets. Your role involves facilitating project reviews, ensuring Lean Product Development compliance, and managing cross-functional teams.

You'll handle bottlenecks, risks, escalations, and tradeoffs using Lean principles to deliver projects on spec, on time, and within budget. Ideal candidates have technical project management experience, preferably in sensors and the automotive industry.

Responsibilities

Project Approval Committee (PAC) facilitation

  • Conducting cross function portfolio review meeting to get phase gates of projects approved

  • Schedule & facilitate weekly PAC meetings and document PAC decisions.

  • Continuously pick-up on feedback/best practices to introduce new processes or modify existing processes to better the process of LEANPD.

  • Work with Finance to review Capital Expense Requests and Profit/Loss of critical project requests and align with project teams and Senior Leadership Team

Project Manager Activities

  • Leverage structured new product development process and stage gate frameworks to lead project activities from initial RFQ through the entire project development and release lifecycle

  • Keep projects on track and ensure timely completion within the defined scope

  • Work in conjunction with Engineering, Product Management, Business Development, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Finance and Sales

  • Conduct regular frequency of project meetings, maintain action RAIL, document all information and ensure meeting minutes and all data and information is appropriately shared

  • Regularly publish progress status reports to leadership and stakeholders highlighting achievements, milestone deliveries and associated metrics

  • Understand, track and articulate issues / risks / action items; work with responsible owners to address the items on a timely basis; update the appropriate stakeholders as needed

  • Responsible for the scope of the project and the achievement of objectives: financial commitments, project timelines and milestones, and product quality

What your background should look like:

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor's Degree in technical discipline

  • 1-3+ yrs experience in Project Management / PMO, having good knowledge in Project management, including full lifecycle developments

  • Experience with requirements definition, defining project scope and managing scope creep, identifying and mitigating risks, identifying and managing critical dependencies

  • Financial awareness, with experience in project budgets and P&L

  • Experience leading global technology and product development teams in a cross-functional, multi-site environment

  • Exceptional fluency in English

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with leadership, stakeholders, cross functional teams (engineering, product management, manufacturing, quality, purchasing, finance, sales) and subject matter experts.

  • Analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to drive to big picture goals and milestones while valuing and maintaining strong attention to the details

  • Willingness to travel as required, 10-25%
