Microsoft Corporation PCB Design Engineer II in Bangalore, India

The Microsoft Surface Team is looking for a highly competent, high impact PCB Design Engineer II for the layout of our challenging Surface products. Successful candidates will be responsible for the entire layout process from feasibility placement and technology definition to preparing files for fabrication and assembly vendors. You will be embedded into cross functional project teams to bring impactful PCB Design expertise to the direction and development of the product. You will strategize for and direct the work of other CAD Engineers assigned to work collaboratively with you.

Responsibilities

  • PCB layout activities from feasibility placement and technology definition to fabrication and assembly file creation of complex, high density, mixed signal designs.

  • Lead other CAD Engineers in the collaborative and concurrent layout of complex designs.

  • Generate an error free design and fabrication + assembly file package of the highest quality.

  • Share your expertise with other CAD Engineers to continuously grow the capability of the team

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of technical engineering experience OR Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years of technical engineering experience

  • OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 1+ year(s) of technical engineering experience.

  • Solid experience using Cadence Allegro PCB Editor.

  • Experience with high density, mixed signal, tight pitch uBGA motherboard layout.

  • Experience with microvia layout (HDI) and solid understanding of fabrication processes.

  • Solid experience with FPC layout.

  • Experience with high-speed digital layout.

  • Experience with RF layout.

  • Solid understanding of layout techniques for general PDN and switch mode power supplies.

  • Strong understanding of layout best practices and the ability to apply them correctly and reliably.

  • Strong, collaborative and respectful communication skills at all levels.

  • Ability to digest specifications and guidelines to enter and maintain design constraints.

  • Excellent organization and communication skills and the ability to work independently at times.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience performing PCB Design using Cadence Allegro PCB Editor.

  • Minimum 3 years of FPC Design experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading other CAD Engineers on a design.

  • Knowledge of concepts and theories that drive layout best practices.

  • Proven track record of mentoring junior CAD Engineers and/or raising team capability.

  • Experience with CAM350 and BluerPrint or equivalent.

  • Experience with 2D field solvers to calculate impedance structures.

  • Proficient with standard Microsoft Office tool set.

  • Bachelor / Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience performing PCB Design using Cadence Allegro PCB Editor.

  • Minimum 3 years of FPC Design experience
