Business Function Intro :

The Global network operations team is responsible for ensuring that networks are available for the business to operate in the key regions of Europe, Africa, Americas and Asia Pacific.

Our responsibility is to provide stable & scalable networks, that allow Diageo to sell products/ Ship products and ensure future growth, This role is within the network COE team that handles the underlying global network to allow Diageo to carry out day to day business operations

This role reports into the Manager Networks– Network CoE who is accountable for the functioning of networks across Diageo worldwide.

Purpose of Role

Ensure high levels of LAN,WLAN, WAN stability & thereby seamless user experience by monitoring performance, fix network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades and collaborating with network vendors and internal engineering and architects on network optimization.

Top Accountabilities

  • Undertake/Coordinate complex network fault investigations at an L3 level in local and wide area environments using information from various sources in coordination with the network vendor(/s).

  • Implement and maintain processes, procedures and associated plans for network infrastructure including administration, usage and disaster recovery

  • Problem management – Coordinate the problem management of P1 incidents & repeat failures. Ensure that root cause is identified & remediations are applied through the change management process

  • Continual improvement – Drive service improvement / development plans along with network vendors & other internal teams. Actively chip in to service / technology reviews. Generate ideas for enhancing network stability / improving end user experience & drive them through to closure.

  • Audits – Conduct regular audits on the LAN/WAN infrastructure to ensure all configurations & infrastructure are in compliance with pre-defined network standards. Support other internal / external audits

  • Change management – Technical review & impact assessment of network changes.

  • Tools & Automation – Support the organisation’s digital agenda by identifying potential areas for automation & implementing them.

  • Operational acceptance - Define & implement technical standards / other requirements for onboarding new network infrastructure onto the Diageo network.

  • Vulnerability Management: Ownership on the Vulnerability management process and ensures exploitable Vulnerabilities are remediated on time and no security breaches happen on the network.

  • Report on key indicators: Review, Analyse and Improve the SLA parameters of each of the vendor, participate in MSRs, QBRs and also update the weekly, monthly internal dashboards with respect to Networks.

  • BAU or equivalent experience led Projects: Bringing in Improvement plans, owning it end to end, including high level plan, design and deployment.

Desirable Experience Required

  • 4+ years of experience in Network Operations

  • Hands on experience in routing and switching is a must

  • Good knowledge or experience in Wireless is must to have.

  • Ability to handle service restoration for complicated faults (Technology & Solution based) in a WLAN/ LAN/WAN environment

  • Excellent knowledge to provide support for the Cisco ISR routing platforms along with hands-on multilayer switching platforms like C65XX, CC38XX, C45XX

  • Wireless experience in WLC 9800/7500, DNA Appliance, Wifi 5/6

  • Understanding / experience in SDWAN (any OEM).

  • Excellent hands-on troubleshooting and Design of Enterprise Network architecture and able to support hierarchical network designs and deployments

  • Network Operations and Architecture/Engineering: solid understanding of secure network architecture and solid background in performing network operations.

  • Good understanding & awareness of the usage of network management systems & tools like Wireshark, FTP, Secure CRT

  • Awareness of network scripting languages such as Python will be an added advantage

  • SDN awareness is desirable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electronics and Communications, Information Technology or similar.

  • CCNP Certification / CCIE in R&S is preferred
