The Role

Job Description:

As a Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS) Administrator, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of the TWS software suite. Your expertise in TWS will be critical in ensuring the efficient scheduling and execution of batch jobs and workflows across our organization's IT infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with other IT teams to integrate TWS into existing systems and processes, providing technical leadership and support as needed.

Responsibilities:

Installation and Configuration :

  • Install and configure TWS components on various platforms according to best practices and organizational requirements.

  • Customize TWS configurations to align with specific business needs and workflows.

Maintenance and Upgrades :

  • Perform regular maintenance tasks such as applying patches, updates, and fixes to TWS software.

  • Plan and execute version upgrades in coordination with relevant stakeholders.

Job Scheduling and Automation :

  • Design, develop, and maintain job schedules and dependencies within the TWS environment.

  • Implement automation scripts and workflows to streamline job scheduling processes.

Monitoring and Troubleshooting :

  • Monitor TWS infrastructure and job execution for performance, errors, and bottlenecks.

  • Investigate and resolve issues related to job failures, resource conflicts, or system errors.

Integration and Collaboration :

  • Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate TWS with existing systems, applications, and databases.

  • Provide technical guidance and support to developers and system administrators on TWS integration and usage.

Documentation and Training :

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of TWS configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

  • Conduct training sessions and workshops for IT staff to enhance their understanding and usage of TWS.

Security and Compliance :

  • Implement security measures and access controls to protect TWS infrastructure and data.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to job scheduling and workload automation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • Proven experience as a Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS) Administrator or similar role, with expertise in TWS installation, configuration, and maintenance.

  • In-depth knowledge of TWS architecture, components, and features.

  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, or Python for automation tasks.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and implement effective solutions.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Familiarity with ITIL principles and practices is a plus.

  • TWS certification(s) preferred.

Who You Are

  • Minimum years of experience - 5+ years

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • Proven experience as a Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS) Administrator or similar role, with expertise in TWS installation, configuration, and maintenance.

  • In-depth knowledge of TWS architecture, components, and features.

  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, or Python for automation tasks.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and implement effective solutions.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Familiarity with ITIL principles and practices is a plus.

  • TWS certification(s) preferred.
