JOB SUMMARY:

Polaris Industries Inc. is a global leader with more than 30 brands and multiple services responsible for the company’s growth into a major influencer on powersports and expanding into commercial, military and electric vehicles. We are looking for an IT Software Engineer (Windchill and Thingworx developer) to work in an exciting and a very fast-paced environment. As a Windchill & Thingworx developer on the Polaris team, you will have the ability to work on the development projects in the Windchill PLM, Thingworx and engineering applications in the PLM/Engineering group within the Digital & Information Technology function. The developer needs to understand the business and functional requirements of the projects and develop code to meet those requirements. Developers help ensure code quality, performance, reusability, scalability, and supportability of the project.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with Product Owners, Lead, System Analysts and Senior Developers to understand business and functional requirements

  • Support the existing customizations on Windchill PDMLink, FlexPLM and Thingworx

  • Perform installation and configuration of Windchill software, coding, customization, GUI development, testing, debugging and deployment

  • Manage to work on enhancement requests; develop source code and reports as required

  • Coordinate with the Lead and the business to analyze and understand the technology requirements; design required solutions for Windchill application and infrastructure development

  • Support the upgrade and enhancements planned on the Windchill environment

  • Adopt best practices on software development processes and ensure that quality software engineering processes and/or methodologies are followed

  • Provide guidance to users and other IT staff on Windchill and Thingworx software and technical specifications

  • Provide support during the upgrade and enhancements planned for Windchill and Thingworx applications

  • Document test cases and perform systems and acceptance testing

  • Performs other duties as assigned or required

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Good knowledge in Windchill 11.x and the newer architecture

  • Candidates should have experience in Windchill, Thingworx & FlexPLM APIs, Windchill Customization Methodologies (Services, JCA, Template Processors, Info*Engine, Client/Server), Workflow design & customizations, Class Extensions (i.e. Validator/Filter), REST Web services, Thingworx Navigate reports and deployments

  • Proficiency with Java, JSP, Javascript, Ajax, XML and HTML

  • Administration capabilities like managing OIRs, lifecycles, workflows, queues, roles, templates, file vaulting, replication and publishing in the Windchill environment

  • Good in SQL Server management (2014 & above) with efficiency to handle queries, indexes, custom tables, etc.,

  • Proficient in standards for integration of Windchill/FlexPLM and Thingworx to ERP/MRP, SCM and other enterprise systems, Query Builder, Windchill Business Reporting, and other reporting tools

  • Understanding of BOM management functionality in Windchill

  • Knowledge in installation and rehosting of Windchill application is preferable

  • Familiarity with CAD management in Windchill 12.0 and the newer architecture is preferable

OTHER SKILLS

  • Bachelor in Engineering or equivalent in Information Technology/Computer Science/Software Engineering, or equivalent technical degree required

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Windchill customization (version 10.x and above)

  • Should be flexible to support during weekends as required for patch updates and deployments

  • Self-directed with excellent analytical and creative problem solving skills

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Must be a quick-learner, multi-tasking and adaptable to an evolving environment

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure

  • Ability to look beyond solving the business problem to see things like monitoring, logging, and performance to be standard

  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment with multiple project assignments

  • Good team player with flexibility on working hours to collaborate with counterparts

  • Knowledge & Experience in SLM, MPMLink, Automated Windchill Server workers, CodeBeamer is preferred
