Job Summary:

The Project Financial Management Portfolio covers the areas of Billing & Credits, Costing & Forecasting, Tax Management, Commissions, and Revenue to Margin Accounting (RTR - Record to Report). This portfolio includes technology foundations built in Oracle R12 and WorkSight (Trane Technologies custom application for various sales tools, document generation, and workflow processing built on an angular / .NET core framework). The foundation for this portfolio has been released into production and is currently in a phase of continuous improvement and stabilization.

The Business Systems Analyst will partner with the business Product Analysts and Product Owner(s) to design the technical tools to execute against a given set of capabilities. This individual will be responsible for assisting in providing a technical roadmap (including involvement in activities for LRP (Long Range Plan) and AOP (Annual Operating Plan)), orchestration of the development delivery process, and oversight of the stabilization and support of these business-critical applications. This is an ideal opportunity for a “techno-functional” individual who has a knack for understanding / perceiving business needs and creating unique high-level technical solutions for the same. This Analyst position will support a business workstream that has a prominent level of visibility/complexity and will require high financial acumen and the ability to understand end-to-end processes that impact that financial flow.

Responsibilities:

· Obtain an in-depth working knowledge of all applications and processes within the associated product portfolio, including familiarity with all boundary systems and processes.

· Partner with key users to understand business processes and requirements, translate them into technical requirements that will ensure system solutions that improve efficiencies, maximize customer experience, and grow and retain business.

· Groom the prioritized backlog into user stories that can be executed against in appropriate iterations within a future sprint.

· Work with the Enterprise & Strategic Business Unit (SBU) Platform and Architecture Teams to validate the direction of the technical design for all prioritized requirements, and to estimate the amount of development work needed.

· Attend all Scrum Ceremonial meetings and provide technical and functional input to the development, testing, and deployment process.

· Ensure timeliness, efficiency, and quality are delivered in incremental functionality.

· Ensure that all technical documentation related to the product, including interfaces, is up to date and following the standards established by the Enterprise & SBU Platform and Architecture Teams. This individual will be responsible for authoring and maintaining many of these documents (Capabilities Map, Systems / Interfaces Map, Solution Options Worksheet or Options Analysis Toolkit (OAT), Business Requirements, Key Features, etc.)

· Manage/oversee all maintenance activities associated to the applications and interfaces included in this product portfolio in concert with the corresponding support teams for the following:

· Disaster Recovery

· Patching/upgrading of databases and/or application platforms.

· Security updates / accessibility protocol

· Proactive oversight of all aging or escalated tickets tied for the portfolio – provide input and direction when needed for resolution.

· Ensuring root cause is established for incidents and problem management process is executed for recurring issues.

· Ensuring solutions are business value focused and incident resolution is based on results of root cause analysis.

· Coordination of regression testing for any projects that would have potential impact to the application.

· Partner with the DevOps team to ensure general health and performance of the application from established monitoring tools/processes.

· Manage the various test instances and refresh schedules tied to the SBU “owned” applications of the product portfolio & coordinate details with the SBU environment manager.

· Remain current on technology solutions and best practices in the industry relevant to the set of capabilities tied to the business processes enabled through the product portfolio.

Education / Key Competencies:

· Strong skills in business processes, business partnering, a natural curiosity in how things work, and a keen sense of ownership are vital to success.

· Knowledge and prior experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) (Oracle preferred) Financials & Projects are essential while the other technologies can be learned if no prior experience exists.

· Experience with & knowledge of Agile structures, roles, and principles as well as LEAN methodologies

· Experience with Product development (Functional experience required, technical development experience is a plus)

· Able to translate complex business needs with limited definition into system requirements.

· Adept and efficient in Project management, time management, planning, organizational and analytical skills

· Self-motivated, willing to take initiative, able to function effectively in independent and team-based situations.

· Able to work on multiple high-visibility projects & workstreams simultaneously and effectively prioritize tasks.

· High energy and aptitude for learning complex modern technologies & knowledgeable in doing market research.

· Demonstrated ability to cope with stress and maintain a professional and cooperative temperament.

· Demonstrated ability to manage opposing opinions and mitigate conflict.

· Written and oral communication skills are required with good interpersonal skills and clarity on concepts and ideas.
