Job Description:

Pratt & Whitney Engine Design & Systems Integration (EDSI) is a dynamic engineering organization focused on the development and certification of military, commercial and industrial gas turbine engines. EDSI is responsible for overall engine system definition and management which defines engine architecture, system and structural design as well as manages all requirements across the program.

We are looking for Weight & Team Center Engineer to join our team at the Pratt & Whitney India Engineering Center (IEC) in Bengaluru India, willing to learn the intricate details of the Weight Management Discipline. As a Weight & Team Center Engineer, you will perform a variety of functions such as configuring and testing a new Team Center weight management system online, exporting part mass property information from NX, Team Center and creating detailed reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain data from NX, Team Center and interact with designers to validate the same. Actively participate in the weight change engineering approval process.

  • Adapting the latest Team Center weight management system to the specific needs of P&W weight managers. This includes configuring the system according to the needs and practices, creating and executing test plans to confirm that the system is performing to expectation, and training and helping others use the final system.

  • System/module/part mass properties/weight validation & verification activities leadership

  • Propulsion system mass properties/weight database creation & management

  • Leading measurements of masses of components using industry best practices

  • Generation of different load and balance configurations

  • Propulsion system monthly mass properties/weight status reports -time

  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to identify continuous improvement opportunities.

  • Exhibit the project leadership in terms of milestones, schedules & quality of deliverables.

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (with 4+ yr experience) or Advanced degree (with 3+ yr experience) in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.

  • 2+ yr of experience in NX, Team Center, advanced excel, VBA/C++

  • Knowledge of Bills of Materials and configuration management

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of systems engineering, statistics, risk analysis

  • Knowledge of mass property analysis, load distributions, mass dynamics

  • Working knowledge of the IPD Process (new engine design/development), engineering standard work (ESW) and design engineering change processes
