BlackBox Design Engineer in Bangalore, India

Summary:
The Design Services Engineer is a key contributor to Black Box Network Services’ Pre-sale Solution Engineering practice. The DSE will need to demonstrate technical expertise and sales skills in a very dynamic and fast pace environment.
This position is located in Bangalore, India.
The position focuses on flexibility, availability, and adaptability, with a superior level of focus on customer design requirements with the expectation to exceed customer expectations in all areas of responsibility.
Essential Functions:
Ensure timely turn-around of solutions, designs, quotes per company policies and standards.
Interact with team members, management, various internal departments, business partners, and third-party organizations to maintain workflows, escalate, and ultimately complete customer quote requests.
Convert customer requirements into orderable design and BOMs.
Directly work with onshore/offshore and internal/external stakeholders to create the right solutions and services.
Continuously develop and enhance knowledge, skills and abilities through various learning channels to expand technical and non-technical capabilities. Ensure further expansion of skill-set in the products & services supported.
Meet all financial performance objectives for area of responsibility and take corrective action as needed.
Implement and make recommendations to improve methodologies, core competencies and processes for the Core Design Center to ensure stable and quality product is delivered consistent with company objectives and client expectations.
Actively and consistently recommend and support all efforts to improve, simplify, automate and enhance day to day Design Center operations and the client experience.
Achieve performance targets established by leadership for applicable Key Performance Indicators.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
This position has no direct reports.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related required
Relevant vendor Certifications highly desirable (Cisco, Juniper, HPE/Aruba)
Experience Requirements:
- 8+ years of relevant experience..
Experience with manufacturer design and configuration tools.
Technical Skills & Certifications:
4+ years of system engineering, design, implementation, and/or support of LAN/WAN networking solutions.
4+ years’ experience in operations or sales specific to technology related fields preferred.
6+ years working with enterprise networking technologies.
CCNA Associate level certification or higher.
JNCIA Associate level certification or higher.
In-depth knowledge of wireless products including but not limited to:
Design and/or implementation
Security considerations
RF and Infrastructure Surveys
Network Assessments
OEM Manufactures
Juniper
Cisco
HPe/Aruba Networks
Ruckus
Cloud-based consulting and design experience is desirable.
An understanding of the environment and challenges of IT operations in the typical mid-market corporation.
SD-WAN and or Security experience is a plus.
Soft Skills:
Excellent oral and written English skills required.
Ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency and scope.
Ability to listen to and understand client requirements and individual preferences with successful track record of ability to develop creative and innovative solutions.
Demonstrated ability to continuously expand and leverage knowledge of technology, market, and industry trends with success in identifying, recommending and implementing best practices and methodologies.
Strong organizational and time management skills to set priorities and handle multiple tasks efficiently to meet client needs.
