GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:

The Application Developer role is principally responsible for the development and delivery of applications to the user base. Responsible for implementing and designing low code solutions User Interface and API integrations for globally used applications specifically focused on the client facing activities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (List 6-10 major responsibilities in the role):

  • Focus on business logic and process flows, working on the design and development of business logic, process models/flows and UI screens to implement in a BPM (Business Process Management)-based system.

  • Work closely with Business Analysts to review user stories and analyze implementation methods and architectures.

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and work in an Agile environment.

  • Design and implementation of Appian applications integrate via APIs hosted in the Cloud infrastructure.

  • Design and develop database objects to support applications.

  • Translate requirement specifications into Appian process model prototypes and solutions.

  • Problem Solver and ability to estimate and size Appian business requirements.

  • Debug issues in Interfaces and Process Models.

  • Participating in reviews, test plans reviews, and release postmortems.

    SKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED (List 4-8 skills required to get the job done):

  • Appian software development experience. (Minimum 3 years of experience)

  • Minimum Appian Certified Senior Developer certification

  • Senior-level experience with Appian. Ability to write complex Appian Code.

  • Strong understanding of Appian Objects such as Records, Reports, Tasks, News, Sites, Actions, Expression Rules, Constants, Query Rules, Web API, Interface Rules, and Process Models

  • Strong knowledge of Appian Process/Solution and Infrastructure Architecture.

  • Hands-on experience writing Appian Plugins (Smart Services, Function Plugins, and Servlet Plugins) Connected Systems, and Component UI Plugins & API integration.

  • Proficiency in SQL programming and relational databases.

  • Understanding and hands-on experience with Agile software development methodologies. Strong desire to learn customer business processes.

  • Strong analytical and communication skills.

  • Highly adaptable to rapidly changing environments and situations.

  • Effectively prioritizes work and has well-honed problem-solving skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field
