Purpose of Role
The Senior Professional, Athlete Intelligence Field Researcher is a vital role in our Innovation, Development, and Testing (IDT) department aimed directly at the heart of what we do: making athletes better by providing them performance solutions they never knew they needed but, once they have it, they won’t imagine being able to live without. This position will seek to understand every aspect of an athlete’s journey to identify opportunities, both present and future, to support them on and off the field. This function will synthesize data collected from athletes and identify product solutions that address these opportunities. This role will feed this intelligence to our idea intake model, then collaborate with our Product teams to foster the development and adoption of these solutions into product that makes athletes better.
Your Impact
Derive actionable intelligence on every aspect of the athlete's journey to compete, including training, competition, recovery, and lifestyle, by providing expertise in distilling a wide variety of relevant sources, including but not limited to athletes, consumers, coaches, sports, and wellness trends, and published scientific literature.
Collect and analyze this information to obtain actionable intelligence about the athlete, then translate it into a product that enhances performance, fit, comfort, and style.
Support and assist in the development of a robust program to explore athlete insights and authenticate athlete performance benefits.
Utilize innovative synthesis methods to transform data and ideas into compelling, prototype-ready propositions.
Foster trusted collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders, empowering them with deep insights and recommendations that transform how we create and develop innovative products.
Engage with internal testing partners, including on-body field testing, instrumented mechanical testing, simulation engineering, and biomechanical studies to pinpoint actionable intelligence.
Collaborate with external consultants and internal teams, including Development, Design, and Prototyping (Lighthouse, PDX Concept Creation Center).

Qualifications
Working knowledge of the sportswear and/or fitness industry.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including communicating and presenting to organizational stakeholders.
Strong interviewing (in-person and virtual), focus group facilitation, and market research skills.
Skilled at distilling complex information into actionable insights that drive innovative products to enhance athlete performance.
Results-oriented with a high sense of urgency and self-motivation; adept at balancing multiple tasks and utilizing all available resources effectively.
Extensive experience leading or significantly contributing to enterprise-level innovation projects and workstreams.
Ability to collaborate professionally and efficiently both within their team and cross-functionally.
Knowledge of the scientific method, including but not limited to observation, hypothesis formulation, experimental design, statistical analysis, and interpretation of results.
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred (Exercise Science, Physiology, Market Research, Consumer Insights, Perception Science)
Experience conducting consumer research projects or other relevant projects.
Experience engaging with athletes at all levels.
Experience and knowledge in the methods of make for apparel, footwear, and accessories.
Workplace Location
Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Baltimore, Maryland office.
Return to Work Designation: Three (3) days week in-office, the remainder of work week remote.
Travel: (30%) Frequent daily travel within the region; periodic overnight travel .

Base Compensation
$83,976.00 - $115,467.00 USD
Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position.
