Purpose of Role

Under Armour is seeking a Senior Indirect Tax Analyst to join its Global Headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland. This is an ideal opportunity for a self-motivated, passionate, flexible, and focused individual to join a skilled and passionate global tax team.

The main responsibilities of the role include preparation of the data for monthly sales and use tax outsourced compliance, monthly accounting for indirect taxes, indirect audit support and resolution, and testing of indirect tax technology.

The Senior Indirect Tax Analyst will report directly to the Director, Global Tax Operations.

Your Impact

  • Responsible for extracting and analyzing data to support all indirect tax compliance calculations

  • Responsible for monthly use tax accruals review and analysis

  • Responsible for preparing Canada indirect tax compliance monthly workpapers

  • Responsible for indirect tax accounting, including balance sheet reconciliations and journal entry preparation

  • Responsible for the preparation of initial reports for sales and use tax audits and collecting and organizing requested supporting data

  • Preparing indirect tax refund request and/or amended returns

  • Responsible for collecting and maintaining customer resale and exemption certificates

  • Assisting in monthly and annual real and personal property tax compliance tasks

  • Assisting with global incentives initiatives and reporting

  • Evaluating and improving indirect tax processes and procedures for efficiency and accuracy

  • Responsible for leveraging technology to streamline and automate tax calculations, ensuring compliance and accuracy in a fast-paced business environment

  • Responsible for assisting the Lead, Tax Technology with tax system testing and validations

  • Assisting the Lead, Indirect Tax and Director, Global Tax Operations with special projects

Qualifications

  • Proficient understanding of US indirect tax laws and regulations required, Canadian is a plus

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required

  • Demonstrated experience with state and local tax research required

  • Ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills to daily responsibilities

  • Attention to detail while maintaining the ability to see the big picture

  • Ability to build strong relationships with cross functional teammates and external service providers

  • Ability to utilize software applications in creative and innovative ways to streamline complex processes

  • Ability to maintain an ownership mindset, taking responsibility for tasks and proactively seeking ways to improve

  • Ability to prioritize, manage, and meet deadlines; effectively managing time and operate with a sense of urgency when required

  • Ability to multi-task and work independently

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

  • BS or MS in Accounting or equivalent required

  • CPA or CPA candidate is a plus

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with indirect tax compliance and accounting

  • Experience with Vertex or similar indirect tax solution preferred

  • Experience with SAP or comparable large scale ERP systems preferred

  • Experience with Power Bi/Power Query/Alteryx and RPA preferred

Workplace Location

  • Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Baltimore office.

Base Compensation

$79,810.00 - $109,739.30 USD

Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position.
