Robert Half Sr. Grant Accountant in Baltimore, Maryland

Description

We are in search of a Sr. Grant Accountant for a role based in BALTIMORE, Maryland. This role requires a person with a strong background in grant administration and post-grant reconciliations. The successful candidate will be tasked with closing out awards, reviewing trial balances, and ensuring terms of the grants are met. This position can be fully remote and offers a short-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the close-out process of awards to ensure that all financial obligations are met

• Review and reconcile trial balances on a regular basis to maintain accurate financial records

• Analyze the terms of the grants and ensure compliance during the close-out process

• Utilize PeopleSoft and Excel (including pivot tables and v-lookups) to efficiently manage and analyze grant data

• Work independently and hit the ground running, contributing immediately to the team's goals

• Handle a large volume of work, including financial reporting, invoicing, and proper closing out of awards

• Meet strict deadlines and adhere to daily and weekly metrics to ensure the team stays on track

• Utilize strong analytical skills to determine the best methods for closing out expired awards

• Manage post-award experience, ensuring all financials for awards from sponsors are properly handled and recorded.

Requirements

• Must have a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in grant administration and accounting

• Strong knowledge and experience in post-grant activities and reconciliations

• Proficiency in using PeopleSoft for grant accounting

• Excellent understanding of federal, state, and local grant regulations

• Exceptional analytical skills to review and interpret grant budgets and financial reports

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders

• High attention to detail and accuracy in preparing financial documents and reports

• Ability to manage multiple grants, meet deadlines, and work under pressure
