Overview

The Program Administrator combines administrative and research experience to work with the Program Manager (PM), Program Director (PD), research mentors, and Center for Diversity in Public Health Leadership Training (Center for Diversity) scholars to support, coordinate, and assist in implementation research projects. The incumbent is responsible for coordinating Center for Diversity research and public health training activities, coordinating onboarding and didactic activities, location, and travel arrangements. Program Administrator will disseminate, track, and clean evaluation data for active program participants and alumni. The Program Administrator will be responsible for tracking outcomes and programs to actively engage Center for Diversity scholars and alumni. The Program Adminstrator will provide administrative support for Program Directors and the Assistant Director of the Center for Diversity. Managerial duties include the training of new staff members, fellows, and students on the proper use of equipment, research techniques used in the laboratory, and policies and practices in line with all applicable Kennedy Krieger Institute.

Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with the Co-Director, Database Manager, and the Manager of the Center for Diversity to prepare data for inclusion in documents such as federal reports, grant proposals, academic manuscripts, and funding agencies reports.

  2. Review and approve applicants for the Center for Diversity Programs.

  3. Provide professional and research mentoring to Center for Diversity scholars, including data management, analysis, and interpretation. Support scholars in developing, reviewing, and editing research abstracts, posters, and manuscripts in collaboration with and guidance from research mentors. Ensure data compliance, including security, privacy, and confidentiality.

  4. Maintain and update program-related information in Teams for sharing across partnering institutions.

  5. Assist with the coordination of public health leaders, researchers, mentors, and Center for Diversity graduates to develop, organize, produce, and edit videos of maternal and child health and public health for publication in the Learning Management system.

  6. Ensure Center for Diversity scholars submit abstracts to scientific meetings after clearance by research mentors.

  7. Ensure the timely completion of sponsor/data center submission and regulatory documents.

  8. Schedule presenters, room locations, and AV set-up for public health leaders, orientation speakers, and related seminars.

  9. Act as liaison between sponsor agencies (e.g., The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [ CDC]) and the internal study team as directed by the PI. Communicate timelines, submit progress reports, and propose and implement solutions to problems that jeopardize the schedule or quality of studies.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Master’s degree in Public Health or a related field required.

  • PhD preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum five years of database management, research, program management, or other related experience required.

  • Recent supervisory/management experience preferred.
