This position is 40 hours per week, working Monday through Friday from 8:30am-5:00pm in the Outpatient Clinics.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with opening and closing the clinic, including logging on and off computers in exam and triage rooms.

  • · Assist with the triage process, which includes obtaining and recording weights, heights, vital signs, and head circumferences.

  • · Prepares exam and triage rooms prior to the start of clinic and between each patient.

  • · Escorts patient/family to assigned exam room.

  • · Assists with examinations, treatments, and procedures performed in the outpatient department.

  • · Assists phlebotomist with obtaining required blood specimens.

  • · Assists in transporting laboratory specimens and other requested items to their appropriate destinations including Johns Hopkins Hospital (JHH) and Kennedy Krieger Institute Labs.

  • · Ensures exam rooms are adequately stocked with supplies and paperwork and records on appropriate logs.

  • · Monitors the expirations dates on the general medical supplies.

  • · Cleans toys according to Kennedy Krieger Institute infection control guidelines.

  • · Presents him/herself in a professional manner by communicating with outpatient staff, patients and families in a tactful and considerate manner.

Qualifications

Education:

  1. High School Graduate or equivalent.

  2. Certified Nursing Assistant certificate required.

Experience: Minimum of one year clinical and/or pediatric experience preferred.
