Job Title: Zone Mechanic
Job Description
The Zone Maintenance Mechanic will perform inspections, maintenance, and repair work on building systems and components. This work is performed under general supervision using the tools and techniques of various technologies, including electrical, carpentry, mechanical, and plumbing. Knowledge of basic electrical, carpentry, mechanical, and plumbing techniques, procedures, and building elements and codes is essential. The role requires knowledge of safety rules, procedures, and practices, including the proper use of safety equipment as defined by OSHA and industry standards. The Zone Mechanic will apply trades and safety knowledge, safely use tools and equipment, solve problems, manage information, and identify and avoid hazards as indicated by warning labels, signage, lights, and other warning devices. The position requires proficient written and verbal English communication skills, at least on a high school graduate level, to interact with departmental staff. Work should be performed within reasonable lengths of time as measured against trade, industry, or engineered standards.

Work Environment
Hospital shop environment; shifts include 3pm-11:30pm, 11pm-7:30am, and a weekend shift from 7am-11:30pm plus 8 hours during the week.
