University of Maryland, Baltimore Lead Social Worker (Sign On Bonus) in Baltimore, Maryland

The University of Maryland School of Medicine Department of Neurologyis seeking aLead Social Worker(SW) to work within the Clinical Center for Adults with Neuro-Developmental Disorders (CCAND) located at the University of Maryland Rehabilitation and Orthopedics Institute (UMROI). The CCAND functions to evaluate and provide comprehensive care to adult individuals with autism, intellectual disability, and epilepsy. The candidate should have some experience working with adults with neurological disorders such as epilepsy and autism. In this position, the Lead SW will function with significant practice autonomy, assisting the physician and CRNP staff with social and financial challenges faced by our patients and families. The SW should have some experience with EPIC electronic medical record software. The SW will interface with the Maryland Epilepsy Center and the Department of Neurology faculty. The Lead SW will participate in bi-weekly patient care and administrative meetings. /This position is eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus. Half will be paid within the first 30 days of employment and half will be paid upon successful completion of probation. For additional information on protocols and exemptions, please visit theCOVID-19 website. Primary Duties: * Assess risk by screening and interviewing clients. Identify and constructs service plans that best meet the client’s needs, and determine best resources available. * Develop plans by identifying programs and services available for a variety client issues dealing with challenges, change, and crisis. Responsibility for program elements. * Maintain case history records and document client(s) progress. May perform chart reviews and generates notes on evaluations, therapy sessions, reports and other accountability measures. * Counsel and diagnose individuals, groups, families, or communities regarding issues including mental health, poverty, unemployment, substance abuse, physical abuse, rehabilitation, social adjustment, child care, and/or medical care in accordance with licensure. * Provide training, guidance, and support to others preparing for use of resources. * Leads a social services program, project, or team management. * Assist in development of policies, protocols, or procedures as requested. * Responsible for review and submission of authorized documentation for reimbursement. * Performs other duties as assigned. Education:Master's Degree in Social Work. Experience:Two (2) years of post-licensure (LCSW-C) experience related experience in area of treatment including responsibility for training, work coordination, and monitoring the work of others. Supervisory Experience:State of Maryland Board Approval as a designated supervisor. Certification/Licensure:Licensed as (LCSW-C) in the state of Maryland. Other:No substitution of experience for minimum education requirement. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:Knowledge of position requirements. Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts. Ability to work cooperatively with others and independently.
