Job Description
Danfoss is seeking a Sales Director for the North American market representing Semikron Danfoss Automotive Division. The candidate will be a key business driver to help identify new business opportunities, develop customer connections and strengthen customer relationship. Additionally, the candidate will need to manage the existing mutli-million dollar revenue projects with North American Tier1s and OEMs (Key Account Management). Qualified candidate will have direct experience selling or working with power electronics in the automotive space. The position is accountable for achieving the regional sales and profitability goals.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following.
Develop and maintain strategies to meet growth objectives.
Build and maintain a pipeline of sales opportunities that supports exceeding targets
Lead and develop customer account plans for major North American OEMs and Tier1 (Ford, GM, Stellantis, Tesla, others + Tier1s in electric drive units)
Business development to understand customer demand and align product requirements with central product management. Proactive targeting of new applications.
Provide input into pricing and product positioning.
Gather and communicate market and competitive information
Develop strong ties with key customers and accounts and be pro-active in understanding the trends and issues likely impacting the market
Supported selected trade shows in North America (and Europe)
Lead and develop North American sales and application engineering team

Bachelor or Master degree or equivalent technical background
10+ year of industry related experience in the automotive environment
Solid and extensive knowledge and experience in power module applications
Ability to gain strong product and product positioning knowledge
Ability to sell customized solutions that add value to our customer’s application
Strong technical knowledge of silicon and silicon carbide (SiC) power modules
Leadership experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
Stable job history that demonstrates a solid track record of meeting business objectives
Experience with all facets of building and executing successful sales plans
Professional and convincing communication skills
Negotiation experience and understanding of game theory
Self-starter and front-line passion: driven to achieve and exceed results
Must be able to work independently with solid time management and organizational skills.
Travel of up to 50%, mostly in the US but also to Europe and China
