Robert Half Finance Manager in Baltimore, Maryland

Description We are seeking a Finance Manager to join our team in the non-profit industry located in Baltimore, Maryland. This role will primarily focus on managing all financial activities of the organization, including budgeting, financial reporting, and grant management. This is a short-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and oversee the organization's annual budget in collaboration with the team.

• Regularly monitor financial performance and prepare financial reports.

• Manage all financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws, including tax filings and reporting requirements.

• Oversee grant management, including tracking grant income and expenses and ensuring compliance with grant requirements.

• Provide financial guidance and support to program managers and other staff.

• Collaborate with the team to develop financial strategies and long-term financial plans.

• Manage relationships with financial institutions, vendors, and other stakeholders.

• Supervise and mentor finance staff, including accounting clerks and bookkeepers.

• Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.

• A minimum of 5 years experience in a finance role within the non-profit sector is required.

• Proficiency in managing treasury functions is necessary.

• Proven experience in developing and managing an annual operating budget.

• Demonstrated ability in grant management is essential.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are a must.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills are required.

• Proficiency in using finance software and Microsoft Office Suite is expected.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team is necessary.

• Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.

• Professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is preferred.

• Experience in strategic planning and risk management is an advantage.

• Knowledge of laws and regulations related to non-profit financial management is essential.
