This position is for the Chief Engineer role of the F-35 EODAS program. This postion can be based in Baltimore (Linthicum), MD or Rolling Meadows, IL with the ability for some remote work.
A chief engineer is the definitive technical authority for all aspects of engineering on all program elements (hardware/software/support/test) and leads a multi disciplined engineering team managing the technical performance of the program meeting cost and schedule requirements including subcontracted elements. Ensures that the program is adhering to sound engineering processes in the development, production, test and sustainment of products for our customers and is compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards. Maintains cognizance over technical activities within program IPTs and ensures horizontal integration of the best engineering practices across the company. Continually coordinates with the systems engineering and program integration team (PIT) leader to ensure the execution of program statement of work and baselines and serves as the technical point of contact with the customer. There is one Chief Engineer per program.
F-35 EODAS Program Roles and Responsibilities:
CAM Responsibilities for Chief, Systems Engineering, Configuration Management, Lab Support
Provide Customer support, and meetings with industry leadership for Return to Green plans. Currently EODAS is the top fleet degrader.
Provide Supplier support - Support any RCCA investigations internal or with suppliers
Lead Reliability IPT for poor fielded reliability, multiple projects and efforts ongoing
Support Internal BAR/BUR meetings, Configuration Control Board, meets bi-weekly to review and release RNs and keep Engineering Metrics Repository up to date
Conduct Industry Team Base visits, go to bases and provide EODAS classes for maintainers, help troubleshoot aircraft with EODAS issues
Attend Production Review Boards bi-weekly, focus on any technical efforts to keep yields high
Support Tactical Fighters EODAS Tech Road Map to include any necessary software updates
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline
Experience leading technical teams
Experience in systems development, integration, and test
Good communication skills
14 Years with Bachelors in Science; 12 Years with Masters; 9 Years with PhD
Active DoD Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree or PhD in STEM or technical management
Domain expertise in defense electronic systems
Understanding of DoD systems engineering requirements
Knowledge of earned value management
Salary Range: $153,600.00 - $230,400.00
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
