Performs testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB) services in a health care environment. Must be able to independently analyze conditions in under-performing HVAC systems, develop solutions to correct the problems and implement corrective action. Must be able to understand TAB reports and create new reports as required. This position requires HVAC system-wide knowledge as well as equipment knowledge. The candidate will work on a team comprised of Engineers, Project Commissioners, Technicians, Maintenance Personnel and contractors. This work will be performed under the general supervision of the Director of Commission for the Johns Hopkins Health System to enhance an In-House Balancing program, help maintain accreditation with various entities, and remedy indoor environmental discomfort.

Paygrade: NL

High school diploma or equivalent. An AA degree is preferred.

Specific training in the area of expertise (engineering and/or maintenance discipline) equivalent to one year of college; such training may be at a vocational or technical school, college, or apprenticeship sponsor organization.

This position requires a minimum of 15 years total experience related to the list below. 10 years experience under the employ of an AABC or NEBB contractor is preferred.

Advanced current knowledge of 7 of the following 23 system specialities as well as relevant local, state, federal and regulatory stipulations and codes: Fire Detection, Fire Protection, Air/Water Balancing, Chilled Water/Heating Water, Steam Distribution, Pneumatic Tube, Medical Gas, Refrigeration, Water Treatment, High Voltage Certified Maintenance, High Voltage Switching, Emergency Power Distribution (Generators or Automatic Transfer Schemes), Digital Controls and Monitoring (Andover, Metasys, STAEFA, Honeywell, Instrumentation/Metering, Data Acquisition, Power Logic, or PLC Programming), Plumbing (Domestic Water or Sanitary)
