Actalent Electrical Project Manager in Baltimore, Maryland

Job Title: Project Manager

Job Description

Our client specializes in performance of heavy electrical construction projects. The company has expanded its scope of services to include commercial electrical construction, maintenance services, and general contracting. They are looking for a lead Project Manager to take on a long-term role within the office in Baltimore, MD.

Candidate must be able to perform the following:

• Oversee the initial startup of assigned projects through construction

• Attend preconstruction meetings

• Attend progress meetings or assign another manager to attend

• Attend handoff meetings with the estimating team prior to job starts

• Setup and attend biweekly meetings with the site team

• Setup and lead kickoff meetings for each phase of the project with the site team

• Ensure plan revisions are getting to the field timely

• Ensure complete buy out of subcontractors and suppliers is provided to the field teams

• Responsible for accurately submitting Change Orders within two weeks of work being completed and/or within contract requirements

• Prepares manpower forecast, job set-up, WIP, Billing SOV, and other project worksheets as required

• Directs permitting process, contract review for compliance with bid scope and pricing

• Coordinates with Operations, General Superintendent, and Safety Manager to ensure proper job staffing and allocation of company resources

• Manages project to maximize profitability of the entire job

• Manages submittals of monthly billings and ensures proper cost coding

• Coordinate with project assistant to ensure submittals are turned in timely

• Properly evaluate critical path and job schedule so that submittals are not a cause for delay

• Fully understand the scope of work on assigned projects

• Create project schedules utilizing best practices and that benefit production

• Monitor and update project schedules based on current job status

• Ensure subcontractors are scheduled at least four weeks out

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 9 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Baltimore, Maryland.

Work Environment

This will be in the office in Baltimore from 7 AM to 4 PM. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, drive, kneel, stoop, reach, bend, climb, touch and grasp, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Special vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth and peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment, particularly when in the field, can vary significantly and at times be very high.
