The Bone Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapy(BMT-CT) research team within the Clinical Research Management Office of the University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Medicine, Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center (UMGCCC) is currently recruiting for a Bone Marrow Clinical Research Nurse.Following an extensive training program, the Bone Marrow Research Nurse will be assigned a portfolio of cutting-edge Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-Cell Therapy (CAR-T) and other novel therapeutic trials and will be the primary interface, along with the faculty member, for cancer patients enrolled in the studies. The Bone Marrow Research Nurse will be responsible for screening, consenting, and enrolling patients as well as subsequently guiding them through procedures and visits required by the research protocol. The Bone Marrow Research Nurse is also responsible for data collection, resolving standard of care issues and direct research support. The Bone Marrow Research Nurse will interface directly with the Principal investigators on the protocols within their assigned portfolio as well as the medical care team, ancillary hospital staff, Sponsor representatives, and data managers within UMGCCC. /This is a full-time exempt position that will work Monday through Friday. PRIMARY DUTIES * Assists with the development of project timelines, work plan, recruitment strategy, and progress through the duration of the research study or clinical trial. Collaborates with Principal Investigators and regulatory staff in the preparation of new protocol submissions, protocol amendments, and renewals of ongoing clinical trials. * Determines recruitment strategy, progress, timeline, and work plan to manage research study operations. * Oversees day-to-day clinical research operations and leads study initiation, execution, and completion. Interacts with subject participants including eligibility screening, recruitment, enrollment, ensuring informed consent is properly secured and documented, counseling, and obtaining patient medical history. * Performs day-to-day operational duties such as: ensuring quality control and safety compliance; serving as liaison with IRB; submitting invoicing; developing procedures; ordering supplies. * Assists in monitoring resources such as examination room availability and use of on-call staff study including assistance in monitoring a clinical trial, or unit budget and compliance. * Guides and mentors junior staff. Facilitates communications with the principal investigator, study sponsor, and department administration. * Performs other related duties as assigned. Education: *Bachelor's degree. Preference in Nursing or other discipline appropriate to the position. *Experience:Three (3) years of experience in nursing, clinical, or in a relevant research specialization related to the position. One (1) year of clinical research experience that includes subject specialty experience preferred. Certification/Licensure:Current Maryland license in good standing issued by the Maryland Board of Nursing to practice as a registered nurse or a multistate licensure privilege to practice as a registered nurse in Maryland or appropriate federal district licensure where research is conducted. Other:Certification from Association of Clinical Research Professionals or Society of Clinical Research Associates preferred. May require training related to occupational safety and health, environmental compliance, shipping of hazardous materials and/or ionizing radiation. May substitute additional years of relevant experience in lieu of minimum education.
