Johns Hopkins University Assistant Professor of Sociology in Baltimore, Maryland

As part of a strategic investment for a transformative expansion of the faculty of the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences, the Department of Sociology at Johns Hopkins University is poised for significant growth in the coming years. We invite applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Sociology to join the faculty in the fall of 2025. We anticipate appointing up to three assistant professors through this search. Candidates with appropriate qualifications are encouraged to apply both to this position and our other search (Assistant Professor of Sociology: Race or Ethnicity).

Successful candidates will have a record of excellent empirical research in any field(s) of sociology and will join a growing, vibrant Department of Sociology within a School and University that foster a wide range of interdisciplinary conversations and collaborations. Applicants should have a record of published scholarship in sociology and expect to have earned their Ph.D. prior to the effective date.

The referenced salary range is based on Johns Hopkins University's good faith belief at the time of posting.
