Robert Half Accounting Manager in Baltimore, Maryland

Description

We are offering a contract employment opportunity for an Accounting Manager in the Wholesale Distribution industry, located in BALTIMORE, Maryland, United States. As an Accounting Manager, your role will be to oversee accounting functions, manage ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems, conduct auditing, and provide financial services to our organization.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes

• Manage and supervise accounting department employees; responsible for day-to-day supervision and leadership

• Maintain and improve systems and procedures for the effective management of accounting

• Use ERP systems to facilitate and manage accounting processes and operations

• Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance

• Coordinate, implement and maintain annual budget processes

• Analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; monitor progress and changes and keep senior leadership abreast of the organization’s financial status

• Assist leadership in the annual budgeting and planning process; administer and review all financial plans and compare to actual results with a view to identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate

• Support the CFO in engaging the board’s audit and finance committees around issues and trends in financial operating models and delivery

• Oversee all financial, project/program and grants accounting; ensure that expenditures are consistently aligned with grant and program budgets throughout the grant/fund period; collate financial reporting materials for government, corporate, and foundation grants

• Manage organizational cash flow forecasting by working in partnership with the program vice presidents; continuously collaborate with program vice presidents to assess the financial efficacy of program operations and establish finance and administrative systems to support program operations

• Leverage strengths of the current finance team members, help to clarify roles and responsibilities and develop and implement training programs in order to maximize and reach optimal individual and organizational goals

• Provide leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organization; create and promote a positive and supportive work environment

Requirements • Proficiency in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning is essential

• Demonstrated ability to perform all Accounting Functions

• Experience in Auditing is highly preferred

• Competency in Microsoft Excel is a must

• Ability to handle Month End Close activities

• Proficient in managing Balance Sheets

• Experience in the preparation and management of Annual Budgets

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required

• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Knowledge of industry laws and regulations.
