University of Maryland, Baltimore Academic Angio/Interventional Radiologist in Baltimore, Maryland

The Division of Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the University of Maryland is recruiting an additional full-time academic faculty physician at an Assistant / Associate Professor level, appointed by the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Applicants should have a strong track record/interest of academic excellence with an interest teaching and research. The successful candidate should have track record/interest in grant/sponsored funded research and scientific publications. The Division will include ten full time IR faculty physicians, ACGME-accredited integrated and independent IR residencies, and three full-time IR nurse practitioners. Our Baltimore IR practice is out of 3 hospitals including the University of Maryland Medical Center, and a freestanding outpatient IR clinic. The range of procedures offered is broad, including but not limited to vascular interventions, full scope of oncologic interventions, advanced body interventions, pain/MSK interventions and men’s/women’s health interventions. Interest and efforts in programmatic development is expected. Interest in AI, VR, Robotics in interventions is desired. The five state-of-the art suites at the University include three dedicated body interventional suites; two Siemens Zeego units, and a Canon Hybrid Angio/CT suite, and 2 additional Bi-plane Siemens suites are shared. The Division maintains a dedicated IR research coordinator and leads scientific discoveries with numerous externally sponsored research projects and clinical trials. The department includes renowned imaging researchers with fully-equipped high-end imaging basic science laboratories in HSF3 building across the hospital and HIFU research/clinical unit. Multi-discplinary research collaborations across the UMB, UM College Park and with our basic science faculty is highly encouraged. Research/academic productivity is expected for this position. The educational program includes dedicated teaching of medical students and residents.
