Jabra Embedded Software Manager in Ballerup, Denmark

We are seeking a talented and experienced Embedded Software Manager situated in the Video Systems Development Centre at GN/Jabra, based in Ballerup, Denmark.

In the role as Embedded Software Manager, you will contribute to our purpose of Bringing People Closer. You will do this by managing and supporting several teams of skilled software engineers in Europe. This include career development, performance appraisal, and providing regular feedbacks.

You will also be responsible for creating an architectural runway, and driving reuse of existing software to support new products in the video roadmap. Furthermore, you will cooperate daily with other teams or partners located in North America or Asia to support a broad range of audio/video products.

The Team You Will be Part of

You will be part of a global engineering organization with skilled hardware, firmware and tester team members focusing on audio/video products.

Your team works closely with the Video Business Unit to provide the “innovation muscle” and maximize growth. Your team owns e2e accountability for delivery of innovation to BU, delivering products on time, cost, scope and quality, in full alignment with the Video Systems Division and roadmaps.

Your contribution is appreciated, and you will:

  • Be an hands-on manager who will guide several European teams to design and implement firmware for existing and new audio/video products, promoting efficient engineering development and grow our talents for the long-term evolution of the group.

  • Coordinate the design, develop, test & debug of firmware for the existing and new GN/Jabra products, mainly based on Android, Linux and other embedded RTOS.

  • Be responsible for developing, and implementing project plans and processes, schedules, and documentation of work and results, requiring cross department coordination, meetings and following up with actions.

  • Collect requirements, create initial backlog, refine and set the vision for the agile teams.

  • Collaborate with outsourcing partners.

  • Follow up on cases with Chipset Vendors and Video Communication Partners.

To succeed in the role, we imagine that you

  • Have a Science Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.

  • Are an experienced people manager

  • Have an in-depth experience with a variety of software development tools for building systems/toolchains, revision control, security, Open Source Licensing and debugging.

  • Have experience with modern software development workflows using Continuous Integration Continuous Development (CICD) practices and Agile software development (SAFe preferred).

  • Got strong fundamentals in programming bare-metal firmware and multi-threaded programs for a variety of OSes including Android, Embedded Linux and RTOS.

  • Are fully oriented to reinforce high quality in software development using code review, test automation, and a variety of testing methodologies (e.g. unit tests, static analysis, etc.).

  • Demonstrate interpersonal skills, to establish a good rapport, generate enthusiasm, negotiate priorities,

  • Have excellent stakeholder management skills

  • Demonstrate a sense of humor, tact, and flexibility in changing situations, are strong in forming relationships, great teammate, dynamic, creative with the ability to work on own initiatives.

  • Have experience in building engaged engineering teams with a culture of feedback, open communication, and team orientation.
