If you are interested in a hands-on, continuous improvement oriented, fast-paced role in a world class manufacturing environment then our Manufacturing Engineer role is for you. In this role you will own the budget and performance of a packaging line in our operations department. Attending production meetings, creating and executing action plans to meet critical metrics, troubleshooting equipment concerns on the fly, developing relationships with technicians, influencing change, and growing technically and as a leader are all elements of this great opportunity. Additionally, you can expect to:
Provide technical leadership to solve medium to long range process-based problems in Packaging, Brewing, and Utilities operations.
Investigate and implement improvements on major overhauls and repairs.
Develop, monitor, and maintain critical control points to ensure excellent process and product quality.
Lead process improvement initiatives to increase operational efficiencies.
Work with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve quality problems and identify systems issues.
Develop ways to improve equipment designs, upgrades, and line efficiencies.
Develop and monitor production schedules, inventories, and maintenance plans to meet brewery demands.
Provide technical process control expertise to teams and customers.
Ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are being executed.
Establish standards and manage process control utilizing VPO methodology.
Lead process improvement initiatives and change efforts.
Develop, coach, and drive accountability of electrical and mechanical technicians in a union environment
Lead the implementation of process improvement and/or innovations-based projects.
Support training initiatives to improve the technical knowledge and skill set of operators and technicians.
Utilize problem solving tools (PDCA methodology, Abnormality Reports, Data Analysis, Fishbone Diagrams, Process Mapping) to achieve both financial and operational performance targets.
Lead efforts to support improvement in safety and quality performance.
BS in Engineering or related technical degree.
Minimum 3 years experience as Systems Engineer, Process Engineer, Project Engineer, or Group Manager/Front Line Manager preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills and team orientation; technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to extract, evaluate, and utilize data for process improvement from applicable systems.
Demonstrated leadership and change management skills.
Ability to cross-functionally move between departments.
Willingness to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays to support the brewery operations and project execution.
Leadership skills, comfort level with change, and the ability to lead change.
Exhibit knowledge in Lean, Six Sigma, or other management system.
Possess the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Solid interpersonal skills and team orientation.
