Bureau Vertias North America Senior Painting & Coating inspector in Ba Ria – Vung Tau, United States

MAIN TASKS:

  • Ensure implementation of the Company’s Quality Policies, Health and Safety and Environmental Policies, Procedures and Quality Plans is to comply.

  • Ensure that Project Quality specially corrosion protection to be implemented and complied with Specification, Project Quality Plan, Procedure and National Regulation as well.

  • Participate in review and approve Project Painting/Coating ITP, Painting/Coating procedures, Painting/Coating System Test procedure, Painting Matrix., etc. from Contractor/Vendor and Support QA/QC manager, QA/QC Lead in review/approve another technical document as well.

  • Communicate and maintain close liaison with Contractor, Vendor, IVB, and Third Party to relevant Painting/Coating matters.

  • Participate and follow-up of the execution of Audit Schedule and Program of Contractor and Vendor together with Project Team specially Painting/Coating matter.

  • Overall supervision, monitor and witness corrosion protection work activities include but not limit to material/equipment inspection, qualification, assembly, welding, NDT, dimension and painting/coating of onshore fabrication, Load-out & Sea-fastening and offshore installation include HUC campaign that to be complied with latest AFC drawing, approved WPS/PQRs, approved procedure and Specification.

  • Participate and closely work with Engineer (Structural, Piping, Pipeline, Mechanical) to take response to Contractor/Vendor on any Technical Query, Deviation Request, Issue related to Painting/Coating matter timely.

  • Instruct and Lead the Site Painting Inspector on their Role and Performance.

  • Participate in issue and closure of Site Issue and Non-conformance Report include Disposition or Corrective Action and Preventive Action.

  • Maintains good relationships with Contractor and Vendor but being strict to achieve the Project objectives.

  • As a member of QA/QC Team and report directly to QA/QC manager/ QA/QC Lead and Chief Inspector as well.

  • Perform other duties that are assigned by QA/QC Manager/QA/QC Lead and Chief Inspector as well.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Education:

  • Must hold a degree of Engineer in Chemistry, Science and Technology or Equivalent.

  • Hold the Valid Certificates: Either NACE CIP Level 3, FROSIO Level 3, ICORR Level 3, CSWIP-BGAS Grade 1 or Equivalent.

  • Hold the Certificates: ICORR Insulation Level 2, ICORR Fireproofing Level 2, CSWIP 3.1, SCWI, NDT are advantages.

Experience:

  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of professional working experience in the oil and gas industry, of which ten (10) years of experience relevant to the role and responsibilities such Snr Painting Inspector, Painting/Coating Specialist, Corrosion Specialist, Corrosion Engineer.

  • Involved in at least five (05) WHP/CPP/LQP include Infield Pipelines during Detail Engineering, Vendor/Supplier, Fabrication, Testing, Installation and Pre-commissioning for both Contractors and Clients.

Specific Knowledge:

  • Good knowledge of Engineering Support, Procurement Support, Construction, Installation, Hook-up and Commissioning for offshore oil and gas Project.

  • Sound knowledge in painting/coating material and system selection and assessment as well.

  • Sound knowledge in and Conversant with International Codes and Standards such as AWS, ASME, BS EN, API, ASTM, DNV, NACE, ISO., etc.

  • Good sense of team spirit leadership, coordination and communication skills in multi-cultural environment.

  • Good computer skills (PDF, Word, Excel, Power Point)

  • Good command in English (writing, listening and speaking)
