Northrop Grumman Payload and Ground Systems Division has an opening for a Capture Manager 3 in the Growth and Strategy Development organization to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Azusa, CA, and report on-site daily.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter with experience in captures/proposals that will lead an overall capture execution team, including investment strategy, supplier and contract partnerships, technical development, and customer relationships and alignment of priorities. Must be adept at quickly understanding what is required to win, developing compelling value propositions, and preparing strong business cases to leadership. Must have proven strong team leadership skills and writing abilities. Candidate must be comfortable with briefing at the executive level and establishing NDAs, working with GSC, teaming, and sourcing.

Primary job responsibilities include:

  • Understanding of and engagements with the NASA, DoD, and Restricted stakeholder customer organizations and budgets to identify market drivers and trends and develop strategies.

  • Developing capture strategy and tactics to produce capture products such as competitive assessments, teaming strategies, and prices-to-win analysis results applied to improve competitive posture.

  • Developing clear and concise Win Themes and Value Propositions for the capture.

  • Maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and functional organizations involved in program pursuit.

  • Developing relationships with teaming partners and industry associations to help drive partnerships.

  • Coordinating and collaborating with line of business management, strategy, business and finance, contracts and global supply chain, technology and engineering offices and functions.

  • Development and management of investment capture project funds, schedule, and execution.

  • Proposal development including managing process, writing proposal responses and developing pricing to deliver compelling and compliant proposals.

  • Synthesizing lessons learned information from capture losses and successes to assure strong execution and follow through on subsequent actions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of relevant experience in Aerospace and Defense; 10 years with a Master's; 7 years with a PhD. An additional 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • Current & active DoD Secret Clearance

  • Prior management experience leading a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) or Business discipline

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Experience interfacing with senior management, peers, and employees

  • Demonstrated ability to crate and execute a strategy

  • Self-directed leader with strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Knowledge and experience within the government Space-based Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) missile warning and missile tracking

  • Knowledge of the DoD acquisition processes and Customer organizations (SSC, SDA, MDA, IC)

  • Active Top Secret / SCI clearance

Salary Range: $180,600 - $271,000

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
