Compensation and Schedule for the Bilingual Medical Assistant
Bilingual Medical Assistant – Full-time, onsite, $20 per hour, Monday – Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. Join a positive team!
Required Qualifications of the Bilingual Medical Assistant
6+ months of recent medical assistant experience required
Bilingual in English and Spanish required
Medical Assistant certification required
High school diploma or GED required
Must successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screen
Job Summary for the Bilingual Medical Assistant
Assist physicians, clinical and non-clinical staff in providing medical care and implement and evaluate direct patient care. Utilize specialized knowledge, judgment and skills necessary to provide excellent patient care and achieve desired goals. Instill the Company mission, vision, and values in all work performed.
Responsibilities of the Bilingual Medical Assistant
Prepare patient for exam and treatment by taking and recording vital signs, symptoms and other necessary measurements and record chief complaint
Document pain scores as appropriate and chart in electronic medical records accurately and efficiently
Report condition of patient to provider
Assist providers with exams and minor in-office procedures
Perform a variety of office-based testing and treatments related to patient care under the supervision of a clinician, including but not limited to injections, aspirations, and other procedures as needed
May administer medications in accordance with established policies and procedures or as directed
Coordinate and manage patient care including pre-certifications, referrals, authorizations, prescriptions and scheduling of patients for clinic, hospital and other ancillary medical treatments and tests
Communicate test results and patient instruction regarding durable medical equipment and home exercise programs to patient
Act as a resource to clinical and non-clinical staff to provide optimal patient care
Provide clerical support with patient/client notification and documentation
Provide complete and accurate information necessary for billing
Schedule follow up appointments with patients
Maintain a clean, functional environment including cleaning and disinfection of equipment, exam rooms and storage areas
Perform basic maintenance of equipment and coordinate necessary maintenance for prompt repairs
Order supplies and stock patient care areas
Monitor inventory including medication and injectables, i.e., expired medications/equipment, recalls and patient tracking
Keep in communication with the front office to aid in patient flow
