Paralegal Location US-OH-Avon ID 2024-1543 Category Professionals Position Type S- Salary Overview SUMMARY OF POSITION The Paralegal is responsible for providing legal administrative assistance to the Legal Services team to support the activities related to Shurtape's various legal needs. They will assist in providing support by preparing and reviewing legal documents, organizing and maintaining files as well as communicating and coordinating with contacts. This position requires the ability to accomplish tasks with a sense of urgency while maintaining a meticulous attention to detail and effectively manage internal and external relationships and legal resources with a solutions-based approach. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Commercial Agreements: Administrative support for the review of various commercial agreements. Creation and maintenance of various commercial agreement files. Intellectual Property - Patents and Trademarks: Administrative support for IP matters. Coordinate with internal and external contacts to ensure timely filing of Patent and Trademark Office Filings. Review and approve uses of Trademarks. Maintain documentation related to proper Trademark usage and Patent marking. General Support: Administrative support for the general legal needs of business in the areas of: Product claims and product labeling Consumer complaint handling Corporate Records and Compliance matters Promotional contests, sweepstakes and rebates Business records retention Maintenance of the legal section of the ShurNet corporate database. Administrative support to the Legal Services team on cross-functional special projects and initiatives. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment that requires the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time efficiently and effectively without sacrificing quality of work product. JOB REQUIREMENTS Paralegal certificate or associate degree in paralegal studies is required. 2+ years of experience as a paralegal with in-house legal department experience in the areas of law listed. Ability to develop and maintain effective and collaborative professional relationships with internal and external parties, including legal, business, and creative personnel. Support and communicate effectively with personnel at all levels of seniority and experience to provide friendly services. Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment. Must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on providing solutions-based and mutually agreeable alternative solutions. Detail oriented, motivated, confident, and approachable, completes work with a sense of urgency. Working knowledge using database software programs and document management system software. Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint).
