Tyler Houk (Practice Director) with Robert Half is searching for a Senior Accountant with previous accounting experience who is interested in working with an esteemed Agriculture firm. Your talents will be used to prepare and consolidate financial statements, analyze and reconcile accounts, analyze cash flow, build budgets and forecasts, prepare audits, and handle internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Candidates need to bring strong analytical skills to the role and should be capable of handling challenging, fast-paced work environments. This Senior Accountant role is located in Avenal, California. In addition to excellent compensation and benefits, the company offers the opportunity to advance.

What you get to do every day

• Produce monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management purposes

• Participate in various department-wide initiatives

• Perform monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP

• Commitment to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

• Uphold company standards when working with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls; while also providing support on special requests when required

• Present analysis on financial results such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc.

• Prepare Balance Sheet account reconciliations

• Coordinate Ad-hoc projects as necessary

• Aid in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors

  Requirements

• 1+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience

• Comprehensive knowledge of cost accounting

• Inventory controls experience

• Foundational knowledge in financial analysis

• Knowledge of month end closings

• Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

• Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines

• SOX internal control assessments (Section 404) experience

• Efficient in ERP systems

• Corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems experience a plus

• Strong analytical capabilities and discernment

• Must have excellent time management skills

• Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

• BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred

• Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
